Our goal in this effort is to complete a thorough and thoughtful analysis and vision for the E. Michigan Avenue Corridor between Shepard and Charles Streets. This corridor is currently characterized by a disparate collection of primarily commercial and predominately vehicular commercial settings. More recent, pedestrian sensitive, medium density are slowly emerging, however they are not occurring under any consolidated or “linked” plan. This investment will surely have more impact and thoughtfulness if it can occur under some choreographed framework. One that realizes the power of a well crafted plan that balances uses, public spaces and density and apportions these on a broader visionary tract. Continuation in the current trajectory will result in slow, less overall impact and not really result in infusing a character that is potentially as vibrant and sustainable.
