Coffee and Kindness
Published: August 21, 2009Neighborhood: Michigan Avenue
I’m currently a student at Michigan State University, and a resident of Lansing. I live in a house with roommates north of Michigan Ave because the rent is so inexpensive.
One day I was locked out of my house, so I wandered over to Gone Wired Cafe, which I had never been to before. I’ve always gone to campus to study, because there are students there and it’s closer to school. It never occured to me to check out what was right next door.
The woman who helped me was one of the kindest I’ve met, and she recommended a good area for me to study. I was really impressed with the coffee and food, and I found that it was a really great place to study. I’m glad I stumbled upon it that day, because it opened my eyes to the potential that the area has. It has wonderful people and great businesses, but needs structure and support.
